When we play

The new season runs from November 2021 through to the end of April 2022. Our main club nights are Monday and Wednesday evenings at Long Field Academy in Melton between 8pm and 10pm.
Matches are held on a Wednesday/Thursday nights at the same venue. Junior and Intermediate coaching is also on a Monday night at Long Field and begins in early October with juniors being coached between 6pm and 7pm followed by intermediates between 7pm and 8pm.

We use feather shuttles for club nights and matches.

Why Play Badminton

Why Play Badminton

Web Development
If you join a club, you'll find that you'll be off court occasionally. During those times, you'll get to mingle, socialise and make lots of new friends.
Web Development
With badminton you have to learn to get from one side of the court to the other extremely quickly and so after a while you develop the agility of a cat. Meow!
Web Development
If you like to sweat then badminton is for you. With badminton you burn off the equivalent of a chocolate bar every 30 minutes or so.
Web Development
Badminton is the fastest racquet sport in the world; bar none! Experienced players can smash the shuttle at speeds of over 200mph. When you learn to return those kinds of shots you get a serious rush!

Brain Boost
Unlike other repetitive exercises , badminton requires and improves mental agility too as to predict how your opponent will play and plan every counter attack.
Web Development
With great power comes great responsibility and with badminton you will develop lightening quick reflexes.

We look forward to welcoming you to a friendly club atmosphere

at Melton Old Grammarians Badminton Club.
